Had an early appointment yesterday so biked to the optometrist for my yearly exam, he said a cataract in my right eye was now bad enough to be removed. Huh? I don’t think my vision is that bad at all compared too a lot of folks I talk too. Many mention how they can hardly see and are still driving and I can still see pretty good even without my glasses when some folks can hardly find their cars without glasses.
I’m thinking I’ll put it off for a while…

ReplyDeleteI just read your post about Terry. I am very sorry for your loss of your good friend. I hope it wasn't a hit-and-run, like often happens. I wish there were things I could say to help, but unfortunately, I have found little helps in times like these except going through the grief.

DeleteFrom your other comments, I can see you have to deal with a whole lot of pain. I can say though, that I am sincerely sorry you have had the tragedies of your daughter being murdered and your son dying of cancer. Those are two unbearable levels of pain that no parent should have to face.
DeleteBut, I do believe you can recognize how you inflicting pain on others does not quell or alleviate your own pain. What is the point, then in hurting others? I believe if you think about it more, you may come to realize that your hurting others is a waste of your own time, and it does nothing to help your son or daughter or anyone.... Especially yourself, though.
It wasn't a hit and run but we may always be confused as to how it happened. Traffic there averages 60 MPH but it is on a straight stretch so it isn't like you can't see and hear cars coming. I got one report that it was foggy but I don't know for sure. Terry had crossed that hiway for years to get the mail.
