I guess the Mannikko’s made it to Arizona with the motorhome after replacing the catalectic converter in San Angelo. I would have just straight piped it instead of replacing the cat, at 30 years old it is exempt from emission tests anyway. Go figure, the cat was at the bottom of my list of things that would be wrong with it, I’ve just never seen a cat act like that before but it’s a damn Finnish motorhome so I guess it has to be different. LOL

But what the hell, at least it now has a new fuel filter and pump also and we had great company for a week.

Dan’s Toyota ate one of my 10 mm wrenches, they should sell those bastards in six packs.

That track thing at the park seems sort of weird to me, and the spinner thing will only hold one at a time, maybe two at the most.

Build one

Someone built their own RV on an old chassis that is easy to understand and work on when out on the road. That old Ford is about a 49 or 50 but I’m guessing it has a newer drive train in it, maybe something from the 60’s or 70’s. Anyway, they did a pretty decent job of building it. I should build something like that on the Pissant Express.

Folks doing their own auto repairs these days should have a fuel system pressure tester. The twenty-five dollar kit Harbor Freight sells is a pretty decent kit but expect to have some leaks so ya better get a roll of Teflon tape for the joints. And the end of the test hoses have a schrader valve in them that may cause no or funky readings so just remove the fucking thing.

On their way again

The wanderers decided to spend an extra day here so they could thank a friend that let them park the RV at her place while she was out of town. They left yesterday and I followed them to Ballinger, guess we got it fixed cuz it was still running good so I turned around there and had lunch at a Mexican/American joint that had a small but good all you can eat buffet.

WANDERER

I think that Ray said Kulkuri is Finnish for WANDERER but they sure as hell haven’t done any wandering the last week, The weather slowed us up some but the truth is that we are not sure what was wrong with the motorhome, some funky test equipment didn’t help matters any. If it is fixed I’m thinking we fixed it accidentally while fucking around, that happen sometimes.

Anyway, they are going to sally forth today and hope they get to Arizona before spring, I’m going to follow them for an hour or so to make sure they don’t limp back to Brownwood. LOL… Na, they are good folks and wasn’t any problem here at all.
