I know what you mean. It is sad that you cannot hardly find ANY manual transmission cars anymore either. In a couple of years when I decide to replace my 14 year old beast with something else, I would still like to get a manual. But it took me six months to find this one, and I suspect it will be considerably harder next time.
Unfortunately my abilities in regards to fixing motor vehicles is about as successful as the one lottery ticket I have bought every few weeks. Other than changing the oil, I have screwed up the few thing I have even ventured to try.

Find an old car with a stick shift and start fixing it up now.
