Decent Pizza

I’m not a fan of the Aldi’s stores but wander into one once in a while. Wanted some decent pizza so tried a Mama Cozzi’s Rising Crust Three Meat Pizza, added some sharp chedder cheese to it. For $2.75 it was pretty damn good

The new woodworking bench is nice, I like it and now I have a place for the wood lathe, it was pretty easy to put together and will be handy to have when I’m to the point to where I can’t work on much other than small crafts and such. I think I should put some pegboard behind it.

Workbench

A lady offered me the use of her three sided shop for working on projects and cars, it has a storage room on one end that can be secured if I install a door. That sure is right nice of her, three walls and a roof is better than working under a tree and it is big enough to hold two cars. But it is 3.5 miles away from my cave so I guess I’ll just stick with the way things are for now.

I’ve had a big box in the frontroom for about nine months now, there is a nice woodworking bench in it, it’s time for me to make some room for it and put the sumbitch together.

Bout six months ago I picked up a free coffee table someone put at the curb cuz the dog had chewed on a corner of it. Well built table made in Malaysia and my easy fix was to trim about ¾ inch off each edge and use a router to put a nice rounded edge on it. Not knowing what the wood is or what stain was used I’m just leaving the edge a contrasting color. Was just going to give it away but decided that like most folks I can always use another surface to pile shit on.

I was a kid in the fifties, back then when folks had kids they just had little fucking slaves and lots of folks back then built their own homes so I’ve been slinging a hammer for a long time and helped build a lot of homes over the years. Back then most homes in that little dipshit mining town in Northern Idaho was build by folks that built their own homes mostly working evenings and week-ends and us kids helped. I helped build the home we lived in, and a neighbors home, and an uncles home, and other homes and when I got out of the Navy I became a carpenter for a while so I’ve worked on a lot of homes since I was about 13.

Anyway, I recently went to see about fixing a hole in a floor for a lady, looked like someone had dropped a heavy furniture leg on it, it is an old oak floor, the home was built in the 20’s and for the first time in my life I was looking at a floor that didn’t have a fucking sub floor, yup, just one layer of wood, only in the south do you find shit like that I guess. That old flooring is hard to find these days but I managed to find some oak to fix the hole, the best I could anyway, I think I did a decent job.

I finished the door project alone for the wandering hippy chick, no idea where she is since she left town last week, she never feels the need to keep us very informed. It will look fine after the used lumber is painted and it works way better than the piece of shit that was there that had to be blocked closed with something. And I added an outside electrical outlet so ya don’t have to be putting an electrical cord in and out all the time.

Today I’m gonna go check out a ladies hole, um, in her floor.

My buddy Henry caught a 42 inch flathead, 39 pounds, pretty damn nice catch. No helper today but after I have some coffee and polish my pecker I’ll work on the door project some, it is finely ready to attach to the wall.

Fuck those places

 A neighbor took her car to a quick lube place for an oil change and safety inspection and they wouldn’t pass it cuz the wipers didn’t auto park at the bottom of the windshield when turned off, I’m not sure what the law states here in Texas but them not passing it is just bullshit. You can turn the switch off at the right time and they’ll stop at the bottom, the law just don’t want them parked where they obstruct vision. I’ll get it passed for her, fuck those guys. I have NEVER had a rig serviced at a quick lube place, they are just low paid morons happy to have a job so they can get some more drugs. My cars may be serviced by an idiot but at least I’m the idiot that services them. Anyway, have a fucking blessed day. 

 

Coming along

Mentioned recently that I was gonna put a decent door on Carrol’s laundry room but that wall leans so much I decided it would be better to just make an “Entrance door”, that is a door in a heavy duty frame that you attach to the wall and then add trim to fill the gaps. Work has been a bit slow cuz of my bout with shingles and other things but it is almost ready to attach to the wall. This morning I’ll install a couple of vents and hinges and it should be ready to attach it.

Art

I’ve always said that I am not an artist but if any silk scarf waving fluff butt can toss shit together and call it art I guess I can also. We all know that I like to reuse repurpose and recycle so when I spotted an old wood crate at the curb I stopped and it up. Carrol had given me an old door mechanism that was beyond restoring so I used it and the crate to make a piece of art. I was going to give it to her but I kind of like it so screw her, I mounted it by my door, for a while anyway. Anyway, have a fucking blessed day.

I had a couch like that in Montana, loved it, would like to have a love seat like it but don’t have the room here.
Intestinal system was very queasy and I had the shits yesterday, from the meds I suppose, but the shingles seem to be healing.

Naked

This post is for those that like to look at naked things, here is a naked sewing machine. A lady asked me if I would see if I could fix her sewing machine, can damn sure try, I was wired at birth to work on machines of all kinds. The needle was broke and the mechanism was so out of whack that it couldn’t make a complete revolution.

 First you gotta get the damn plastic cover off these modern machines, anyway, I fixed it and it works fine again. It is a cheap Brother from Walmart, they generally sell for about a hundred dollars but don’t discount them as junk, they are pretty damn good machines for the cost, I have one just like it and have put it though hell for years and it still works fine even though I’ve had to get it back in time a few times cuz I ask too much of it on real heavy materials. They are all the machine most folks need these days.

September 1 came in at 81 degrees and muggy in the morning, then in the evening it stormed and rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock and the electric went out a number of times, and again this morning, fuck September.
