Spent an hour visiting with a lady yesterday and got to know her better but she has a bf so, um. Well that is how that goes, but if she didn’t have a bf I would sure as hell be in line.

When Gene left the bar Sunday evening a man outside asked him for a cigarette and he told him he didn’t have one and started walking away and the man blindsided him on the side of his face, that is fucked up. And he got away before Gene could react or he may have been in trouble. Gene is a skinny shit like me but you don’t want to push the wrong button on guys like us, just cuz we are getting old doesn’t mean we can’t do some damage, we grew up in an age where taking a beating and giving it back was the way things were and we can still put out a good punch even if we do run out of steam sooner than we once did.

If you are going to hit an old man you had better hit him really hard because he learned many years ago how to take some pain and it just pisses him off if you haul off and hit him. We didn’t grow up with safe rooms to coddle us, just saying.

A date

I have a date today. Not really a date, just a meeting with a lady I would like to know better, I’m looking forward to it. I figured it was about three miles from Belle Plain to Ave. B but I’m full of shit, only took 50 minutes to walk there so it is only about two miles.

Crap, guess I did that laundry wrong, now I have some spotted clothes, but I will keep wearing them, my clothes become my friends and I wear them until they fall apart and I don’t dress to impress anyone anyway.

Have a Ford pickup with a 5.4 Triton engine that needs new spark plugs? Good luck with that, never buy a used Ford with that engine unless there is clear proof that the plugs have just been changed.

The flap on skin I tore back on my hand just might heal okay, it seems to be holding on, for now.

The oil leak is fixed, decided to not install an after market gauge, too tight of area to work in at the back of the engine. Exchanged it for a new pressure sending unit, just five bucks more. For many years I’ve had a special socket for pressure sending units but this one is longer than the old units.

Couldn’t find one in the pawn shops or the parts house so had to twist the top (plastic) of the old one off so I could use my old socket to remove the base. Put the new unit in as tight as I could without harming it and ordered the special socket needed to make it tighter.

Tomorrow the cats in the park are going to get a special treat, I’m taking them a whole baked chicken to feast on.

Went for carrots yesterday and the truck was showing zero to low oil pressure so I replaced the oil filter on it but that didn’t improve it. I mentioned earlier that I thought the rear main seal was leaking and put some stop leak in the engine but it pays to be snoopy and think things out. A sudden drop of oil pressure made no sense to my years of experience as the engine wasn’t making any noises or complaining so I decided to do some more looking. Bingo, the oil pressure sending unit is on top of the engine at the back next to the distributor and is leaking. So I bought an after market pressure gauge and will install it today and that should fix my problem. And that is a pretty cheap fix, about 20 bucks is all.

May be hard to get it removed though, it is in a hard place to get to and I don’t have the special socket like a dealer would have. I have the socket for the shorter ones but this one is long.

Black

I got a nice pair of heavy duty pants at a thrift store for two bits but they were white and I don’t do well with white clothes being as I’m always working on stuff. So I got some dye and dyed some of my stuff. One pack of dye is only good for so much material so by the time I got to the tee shirts they didn’t get that black but that is okay.

Hum, payday tomorrow, I did okay this month and put a few bucks away. I hate to watch Gene use tools, he was trimming some trees with a sawzall and just kept tossing it on the ground instead of laying it down, then after removing branches he would go look for the saw he had tossed to the side. That boy ain’t wired right, I’d hate to be one of his tools.

This sucks, my truck has an oil leak, appears to be the rear main seal. The parts house doesn’t stock AT205 Reseal stop leak so I got a bottle of Bars Leak engine stop leak, maybe that will help for a while. But if the engine has to come out so be it, I’ll hire a young man or woman that wants to get some mechanical experience working under my direction.

Shelving

Got a chair side table at a Bangs yard sale last summer, been working at refinishing it when I think to work on it. Removed a bunch of the old varnish by scraping it off and now it is time to get some paint remover for the hard parts.

Yesterday I went to Lonnie’s for the shelving materials then went to Gene’s and the fucking monkey had changed his mind, he had just called me yesterday morning but never mentioned that, he sucks at communicating with others. Fucking monkey, so I had to take it back.

Those morons in Washington think they are our rulers instead of our representatives.

Brady city park

After lunch in Brady I checked out the city park. Pretty decent park, something of everything, swimming pool, play ground, ball fields, and a VFW club with bingo on Thursday nights. The entrance street is pretty cool also.

I parked under the shade of some trees next to a picnic table next to a little bayou for a little nap. Then I needed to take a crap but the restrooms were closed, spirit has been known to shit in the woods and carries TP in the truck but I went to a Stripes station in town.

Nice that they built a Discount Tire store here for me being as I bought my Goodyear tires at a Discount Tire store up north and needed to have a leaking tire fixed yesterday and they fix them for free.

“Fashion designer urges industry to refuse to dress Melania Trump.”  Fuck those snobs, I’m pretty sure she knows how to dress herself.
