Chysler

It is my opinion that Chrysler P.T. Cruisers are as good as any other car Chrysler makes, but that may not say a lot about Chrysler products made today. They may still be making and selling them if they had just provided a little more room around the engine to work on things cuz folks working on them hate them, three inches to the front and an inch or two on the right side would have been great.

While waiting for a new TIPM to arrive I decided to replace the crankshaft sensor, just for the hell of it. Utube has videos showing that it can be removed from underneath the car by removing an engine to transmission support. Maybe, if you are a young flexible monkey but I’m getting old and there is only just over an inch of space to work from underneath, and I’m not as strong as I used to be.

Soooo…… My solution was to remove the radiator cooling fan and access it from the top, that gave me about three more inches of working room. At my age you start to bruise easy but that is just part of the game I guess. It will just be my luck that the fucking starter will go out next and I’ll have to take the fan out again to get to that sum bitch.

Anyway, have a fucking blessed day.

Better than nothing....

This is just a product report and may be of no use to you. Not long after moving to Texas some SOB swiped my box of electrical stuff out of the back of my pickup, there was a number of old school test gauges in it and they are hard to find in good working order these days.

One of them was an amp meter that I had used for years to test the amperage draw on circuits, that’s handy information at times. One day I was in Harbor Freight and spotted an amp gauge (for testing) in the automotive section, hell something is better than nothing so I bought one.

As is it is of limited use cuz it is made to plug into an ATO fuse panel, an old one. The ATO fuses replaced the old glass fuse panels back in the 80’s as I recall, but modern cars use what is called a mini fuse so as is this tester is limited to just using on some cars and trucks made in the 80’s & 90’s. But being an old school sumbitch I’ll make up some leads that makes it more useful so I can use it on any car or truck no matter how old or new and I won’t be limited to just plugging it into a fuse panel but can check a system at any point I feel the need to.

Anyway, have a fucking blessed day.

 Cat walked into a bar.
Bartender: "What'll you have?"
Cat: "Shot of rum."

(Bartender pours it.)
(Cat slowly pushes it off the bar.)

Cat: "Another."

More car shit...

Yesterday morning I put the Silver Slut up on ramps and removed the fucking tipm, actually it is one of the things under the hood that isn’t all that hard to remove even though it has a lot of wires going into the underside of it. Took me about 45 minutes. I’ve ordered one, should be here in about a week.

When I got ready to go back to the cave the goddamn truck wouldn’t start, took me a while of screwing around and an extra battery to get it started then it was off to the parts house for a new battery.

Anyway, have a fucking blessed day.

Ever??

Ever drive one of these? I did once, when I was hitchhiking from Florida to Utah, the owner let me drive it about 200 miles. Kinda cool cars.

Cocksucker

I let someone use the Pissant Express (my truck) and the cocksucker left it unattended while running and it overheated and blew the top tank out of the radiator so two hundred dollars later it got a new radiator. Now that it is back together I’ll put the Silver Slut out of service so I can pull the TIPM and send it in for a rebuild, that’ll be another four hundred bucks. Oh well, shit happens.

Anyway, have a fucking blessed day.

Yard swing...

A few years ago someone gave the sweetie an old yard swing and she drove some big nails into one of the joints in hopes of repairing it, they didn’t help cuz the wood was so rotten there. Didn’t take pictures during the repair but I removed the seat from the A frame and removed the nails and used a load strap to suck the pieces together and tipped it over and drilled a three quarter inch hole through the two pieces and applied plenty of glue and drove a three quarter inch dowel into them.

She wanted a cover over it and I was thinking over how I might make that happen when she showed up with a yard umbrella and asked if I could somehow mount it. Hum, so I removed the pole at the pivot joint and made a sturdy mount, it worked out pretty well. It is in a protected area so it may hold up for a few years.

Anyway, have a fucking blessed day.
