Slice & dice

Mentioned to a friend that I would like to have a simple food chopper that was easy to clean and he gave me one. It was too simple and didn’t do a good job so I went looking for something. Walfart had one for bout nine bucks so I figured I would try it. Put a big slice of onion in it and slam bam thank ya mam, it was all diced up real nice lickity split.

Best cheap ass chopper I’ve ever used, for bigger chop jobs just leave the base off and use it on the cutting board. Have a fucking blessed day.

Easy to do

AutoZone had a rebuilt compressor W/O a clutch for 275. Fuc dat, for 300 I ordered a NEW compressor kit, came with a clutch, a receiver/dryer, orifice valve, extra oil and a bag of O’rings and seals, enough to replace all the seals in about 30 units.

The compressor is right on top of the engine so was easy to replace and now I shouldn’t have to recharge the system two times a year. Have a fucking blessed day.

The power was out for a couple of hours yesterday, it makes such a loud bang when the transformer fuse blows.

I put some Freon in a neighbors car yesterday. Being as I have that stimulus money sitting there not doing anything I think I will put a new A/C compressor on the truck. Maybe then I won’t have to refill the system every year. I started doing automotive A/C work back in the 60’s, back then you could buy kits to put A/C in any rig that didn’t have it. The basics hasn’t changed but modern control systems sure can be a pain in the ass to understand and fix.

A sign in front of me said something about a pole behind me. “THUNK”, yup, found the bastard, so buffed the paint off the bumper yesterday.

Drill or Driver???

If you’re not into tools don’t bother to read this. A few months ago I bought a Bauer battery operated drill from Harbor Freight, they are good enough drills for most home owners without spending a lot of money. A new thing these days are battery operated impact drivers so I got one of them also. Impressed with the driving power the little bastards have but I don’t think most hobby craftsman needs one, especially for wood working. Unless they have a need to drive a lot of long screws, like 5 or 6 inches long.

They don’t have a chuck like drills do so require buying more accessories and such. I’ll mostly just use mine when working on cars, or want to drive the head of a screw halfway through a 2X6. Have a fucking blessed day.

The man that built the covered porch I’m doing some work so I can screen it in is a licensed contractor but I guess the sumbitch lost his square cuz one side is almost fives inches off, so I’m having to deal with that with the extra framing for the screen. I think I can get it looking half way decent.
